For strengthening assertiveness, providing effective feedback, aligning organisational values and behaviours and resolving conflict

A one day program that can also be delivered in half day, modular or blended learning formats as well as a public program

A practical program to support participants in strengthening both their communication skills and confidence in having effective and assertive conversations and developing empathetic awareness and behavioural flexibility to adjust their communication to suit different workplace contexts to obtain desired outcomes.

Overview

Understanding our motivation for and why we need to have effective and assertive conversations is critical to our emotional wellbeing. This supports us in strengthening our motivation to have these conversations. When we are unassertive, there is an increased risk of expressing from un-resourceful states such as frustration, from which we are less likely to obtain desired outcomes.

How we connect with ourselves, to understand our needs, and how we connect with others to understand their needs is a critical component for effective and assertive communication. When needs are met, for us and for others, we are more likely to achieve desired outcomes.

Developing and strengthening some of the key skills for effective and assertive communication is critical to both developing confidence and obtaining desired outcomes. From a ‘being’ perspective, accessing a confident state and a state of being present for high level listening is vital. From a ‘doing’ perspective, the ability to frame conversations, identify needs and detect different communication styles is highly valuable for behavioural flexibility and to obtain desired outcomes.
